Tim and Katie to represent Wales at the Inter Regional MTB Competition.

To Tim and Katie who have been selected to represent Wales at the 3 day Inter Regional MTB Competition that will be held at Cathkin Braes, Glasgow in late July. This a first time for Tim and Katie’s second opportunity to represent the club and Wales at this event.

Both Tim and Katie started their racing with the Go Race Series that Mike Tong runs. It has been a great introduction to racing for them both. More recently with the help and guidance from Welsh Cycling they have both been working hard to move onto the next level of racing at British and Welsh National events at which they are both doing well. Not forgetting all the help they get from Steeve Beech @wheelism.

So once again Congratulations from all of the club and our Club Sponsor Beics Brenin.

Summer Friday Evening Fun Events in Mid Wales

Summer Cyclocross at Aber & Freewheel Grass Track at Welshpool
West Wales Racing are again running their excellent cyclocross race series. This is really good fun on courses that are suitable for all ages and abilities with plenty of passing room & just long enough to enjoy & not suffer too much!
The racing starts at 18.00 for the youngest with the older teens & adults off at 19.20. Enter on the day, suitable for most bikes & round the night off with a trip cross the road for a McDonalds.
Friday’s – 3rd, 10th, 17th & 24th June at Blaendolau Playing Fields, Aberystwyth SY23 3SR
Hafren CC are again running their ‘freewheel’ Grass Track series near The Flash Centre, Welshpool. Again there are events suitable for all ages & abilities. Any bike with a freewheel can be used & there were several track inspired events for each age group with a series prize for each group. Last year was really good fun with mountain bikers, roadies & track riders all having a go.
Provisional dates are Friday’s – 24th June, 1st & 8th July – details to follow – choice of the new KFC or McDonalds in Newtown to finish off the night in the traditional way for those of us that pass that way of course.
