A lovely sunny weekend following a dry week meant ideal conditions for this year’s CyB Enduro. The club hosted Saturday’s Kids Enduro with a variety of routes with increasing length and difficulty to suit all abilities.
There were approx. 115 taking up the challenge. Four of the club set off at a hot pace and despite a crash managed to be first back for the second year running. Well done Jamie, Katie, Luke and Tim. Other club riders tackled the challenging routes well done Lowrie, Owen, Zac and everyone who took part.
Sunday bought the usual mass start of around 500 riders all of the club’s riders rode the 30K route
Mike clocked it at 31.07k with 938m ascent and completed the route in 2h 50s he was 75th overall and 3rd male over 60.
Peter who is just back from a serious injury completed the course in 3h 02s and was 100th overall and 1st in the 16/17 year category.
Iain who I believe was on only his 2nd or 3rd ride of the year!!! Finished in 4h 49s.
Elize who completed the ride on a borrowed bike also had a mechanical that required going back to the VC and Steve Beech’s mechanical skills to fix it finished in 5h 09s. (Next year “Remember to bring your own Bike Elize”!!!)
Everyone was pleased with their ride and some have even said they would do it again next year.
Many thanks to all the club members who took part and / or who helped over the 2 days whatever role you played you helped make the week-end a success.

Beautiful sunny weather greeted those going to Marsh Tracks for Saturday’s Go Race XC meeting on a new and exciting course.
The club was well represented and took 1st in the U6 girls with Lowrie, with Arran in the U6 boys, Tim in the Juvenile boys and Katie in the U16 girls. Rupert and Gruff also rode well for 5th and 7th in the U6 boys. Well done everyone.
The good weather continued into Sunday for the WWCRT Cyclo Cross in Aber when it was almost too hot. Mike T and Chris J had set a testing course that contained a mixture of climbs and off camber descents.
Cerys started the day’s races with the U12’s and was 5th girl and 15th overall. In the Youth/Novice Women race Tim took 3rd in the U14 boys (7th overall). Luke was just behind Tim when he had a puncture and had to run ¾ of a lap to pick up a new bike and finished 12th U14 boy (22nd overall). Katie was 2nd Under 16 girl (23rd overall). In the senior/Elite/Ladies race Mike was 3rd V60 (92nd overall) shame there is no V.70s class.
Katie was extremely proud to be selected to ride for Wales in the British Cycling U15 Inter-regional Championships 2015. They were held on the 2012 Olympic site at Hadleigh Park Essex.
The events took place over 3 days starting Friday 18th September with a skills competition completed in very wet and slippy conditions. The rest of the week-end saw hot sunny weather with a Saturday morning handicap race and in the afternoon an exciting eliminator race where Katie managed 2 first places. Sunday morning hosted the team relay race where Simon, Megan, Katie and Sol took a brilliant 2nd place. The afternoon saw the XC racing on the Olympic course.
The team Megan, Ellie, Katie, Simon, Jack, Sol and Joe led by Manager Becky and Coach James all worked well together in what was an exciting fun week-end.
